I took the summer off from writing because it had become more of a chore then an enjoyable experience. Now that some time has passed, I hope to share some of my life with you again.

"I HORRIBLE!"

Today is the day I told the Dictator the truth.

Every Tuesday we take the Boy to swimming class while the ladies are at school. This has been our routine all year, Boy swims, Dictator eats a snack and reads books, while patiently waiting for the lesson to be over...HA!

Someone must have tipped the Big D off about the world's worst 2 year old competition, which is apparently going on today, in Baltimore.

I am not one who acknowledges temper tantrums, but after 30 minutes of pain, even I begin to twitch.
That is when it happened..."Baby D, you are being HORRIBLE!"

Well, she got quiet and looked up at me with that sh-t eating grin and said, "I horrible mama?"
" Caleb, I horrible! I HORRIBLE!!"

I bet you can guess the first thing Ms. Kelly heard as we walked up to get pre-k 4..."Hi Miss Kelly, I HORRIBLE!"

Is that the folks from Mother of the Year calling again???

On our way to the car today, the Boy was holding my hand on one side and the Dictators on the other. He looked up at me and said, "Aww mama, I'm stuck between two girls."
Of course, my obvious response was, "Hey I think most boys would love to be stuck between two girls."  Wait, what??
Snicker, Snicker from lady walking by.

Oh Miss 2nd grade, have I ever in all the years we have know each other, come into your room at 6:30am, got right next to your ear, saw that you were obviously fast asleep and said in an extraordinarily loud voice, "ARE YOU AWAKE???"

Only once...so why aren't we on our way to Disney World right now???

Today we went to Longwood Gardens with our PA cousins.  I think that we may have even behaved well enough to have them invite us again sometime...maybe...I mean they didn't run screaming to their car at the end of the day, so that was good.

It is really a beautiful place...with a lot of flowers...less only one, shockingly...thanks to the dictator.

We talked about not picking the flowers in the car on the way there - in between the dictators extremely loud, opera-inspired version of "Twinkle, Twinkle,"
while putting on our sun block in the car, as the boy decided to play hide under the minivan in the parking lot
and as we sat on the benches waiting for our cousins to arrive, while the dictator played chicken with a woman in a motorized wheel chair...I believe strongly in repetition.

I have a new, absolutely adorable niece.
I got to be the first person to hold her - besides her parents, who don't count.

When I got home, Nick pulled up a picture of the 6 of us apple picking and said, "Jen, this is a picture of us, the Leone's, it is perfect this way, there is no room in this picture for another person. I am so happy with our family just the way it is."
What I heard was, " You psychotic woman, stop bugging the crap out of me about this baby bs. There is no way I will ever give in to this madness, so be thankful for what you have...be-atch."
Ok, he makes some good points.

Our team lost the soccer game Saturday... and for some reason I walked away feeling responsible. WHAT??
The score was 1 - 0 and a kid on our team scored the goal for them while attempting to block the ball with his hand - of all body parts -
shouldn't that at least be considered a tie??

My favorite part of coaching is the looks on their little faces when I am actually attempting to teach them the rules of the game.  It is the same look I have when Nick talks about the importance of paying off the credit cards before we buy something fun for the house...complete and utter confusion.  GO TEAM!
