I took the summer off from writing because it had become more of a chore then an enjoyable experience. Now that some time has passed, I hope to share some of my life with you again.

Back in Charm City

I know it's been a while...but I was being held hostage by NJ and I couldn't find a computer that wasn't surrounded by my children.

Baby M finally arrived last night...she certainly kept me waiting long enough.
I have decided to forgive her though...only because she told me, and I quote, "You are already my favorite auntie, those others are OK, but I can tell you are the one who will give me the most junk food when my mom isn't looking." and that beautiful little genius is correct - on both accounts.

After visiting the hospital, I rushed to my in-laws to tell the kiddos about their new cousin...not sure why I thought they would care.  Someday they will be aware that others exist...

Speaking of...we were driving to pre - k today and the Dictator was looking out the car window saying, "Mama look at MY trees...MY trees are so green now." I just complimented her on doing such a fine job.

We didn't leave NJ until 8:40pm...4 kids, starting a 2 1/2 hour journey, on a school night, 1 hour past bedtime...priceless.

About 5 minutes in the Boy was asleep...30 whine-filled minutes later, pre k - 4 finally passed out. Her whining is obviously not only exhausting to me.

The next 45 minutes were filled with the Dictator, in rare form, and Miss 2nd grade, begging her to be quiet so she could fall asleep.
I am not sure what was worse...the continuous verbal diarrhea or the complaining about it.

The Dictator was the last one standing.
She cried and she laughed. She sang and she yelled. She ordered and she argued. She cried some more...for the entire trip...without coming up for air.
At one point she was shouting, "MAMA MY EYE HURTS...TAKE IT OUT!!!"
Which was just after she had told me that they were in fact dinosaurs in "How to Train Your Dragon." absolutely...NOT DRAGONS!!

When we pulled into the driveway, I was so thankful that I didn't even put the car in park...I just grabbed "the girl who is never quiet" and sprinted for the only place that could save me...and her, for that matter...the CRIB.
Ahhh...silence.

  1. That's so funny... I had the same conversation with Baby M last night. Just trade the word auntie for cousin ;)

So glad you had a fun-filled trip home! We miss the Leones already (especially the Dictator!).
