Today was Teacher Appreciation Day.
My neighbors and I just spent hours making comment filled posters for the teachers at our children's elementary school...I have a few favorites...
"Ms. ??? You bloomed my brain." (accompanied by picture of brain with flower protruding from center)
"Mr. ??? Thank you for making the violin easy."
"Ms. ??? Reading is NOT Boring, Thanks!"
One of my favorite kid qualities is their ability to say it like it is. It is unfortunate that as a grown up, I have lost that skill...now I just think it like it is.
Nick and his dad spent a majority of the afternoon cleaning out the garage.
Tonight as I was pulling in the car, I thought to myself, "they really did a great job...but where in the hell did all the crap that once lived here end up??" I am guessing that I will be spending the greater part of next week cleaning the basement.
So we went to the fund raiser last night. I wore a cute dress that I think my sister gave me a few years ago. We ate lots of apps., had a few drinks and met a really nice couple...much less scary then I had anticipated. Sometimes being a grown up isn't very different then being a kid.
Jen, I just read this posting. If I would have known about your fundraiser, I would have offered for you to borrow something. I must have about 20 dresses at least plus other cute outfits. As you know, there are plenty of shoes to choose from as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks - I'm sure there will be a next time.
